                                       Desde 1994 radica y pinta en las montañas mágicas de Tepoztlán, Morelos, México.

“¿Viajar para pintar o pintar para viajar?”

“En 1988 dejé  Bélgica y mi trabajo de profesora para dedicarme enteramente a la pintura.  Mis acuarelas son el resultado de viajes por varias países de Europa, Turquía, Israel, Tailandia, Indonesia, Ecuador, Guatemala, Belice y México, siempre en búsqueda del misterio humano.

En mis pinturas, lo que me cautiva y me inspira, lo que siempre ha vuelto y me sigue fascinando, son la gente. Me encanta centrarme en las caras, la expresión, especialmente de los ojos y los pensamientos o sentimientos detrás de ellos.

La maravillosa y transparenta técnica de la acuarela coincide con mi exploración...

No hay vuelta atrás en la acuarela, al igual que en la vida misma. Se avanza con cuidado y bien pensado. Sin embargo, siempre se puede empezar de nuevo. La acuarela es una aventura maravillosamente fluida, difícil de controlar, pero que presenta bonitas sorpresas si tienes confianza y te dejas llevar con el flujo interno.

Para mí pintar es como rezar: Usar el agua  - el elemento más vital y precioso en la tierra - como medio, es un privilegio que agudiza la conciencia y evoca la gratitud.

No me gusta el arte feo, cruel o violento. Ya tenemos más que suficiente de lo negativo. Convencida por la ley de la atracción, espero que mis pinturas sean una invitación para que el espectador se involucre en la interacción de mirar y ser mirado. A medida que penetra en el mundo de mis temas, mis personajes también entrarán en su mundo. Permítales mejorarlo, colorearlo, curarlo con creencia en la verdad, la inocencia, la belleza y el amor...”

·         Fascinada por el Calendario Maya TZOLKÍN, escribió e ilustró en acuarela:

o    2006: “13 Colours”, calendario de cumpleaños presentando los 13 números sagrados del Tzolkín en 13 ilustraciones con cuentos en inglés, Claes Printing, Bruselas

2018: editado en México, una nueva edición en holandés y pronto en español.

o    2011: “Mayan Calendar”, libro explicando los 13 números y 20 signos del Tzolkín Maya con 34 ilustraciones, texto en inglés con traducciones en anexo en español, holandés y francés,

“Travelling to paint or painting to travel?”

“In 1988 I left  Belgium and my work as a teacher to commit myself entirely to painting.  My watercolors are the results of travelling through several European countries, Turkey, Israel, Thailand, Indonesia, Ecuador, Guatemala, Belize, Mexico… always in search of the human mystery.

In my paintings, what captivates and inspires me, what has always returned and continues to fascinate me, are people. I love focusing on the faces, the expression, especially the eyes and the thoughts or feelings behind them.

The wonderful and transparent technique of watercolor coincides with my exploration ...There is no turning back in watercolor, as in life itself. You have to proceed with care and think ahead.  However, you can always start over. Watercolor is a wonderfully fluid adventure, difficult to control, but with beautiful surprises if you have confidence and let yourself be carried away by the internal flow.

For me, painting is like praying: Using water - the most vital and precious element on earth - as a means, is a privilege that sharpens awareness and evokes gratitude.

I do not like ugly, cruel or violent art. We already have more than enough of the negative. Convinced by the law of attraction, I hope that my paintings are an invitation for the viewer to get involved in the interaction of looking and being looked at. As you enter the world of my subjects, my characters will also enter your world. Let them improve it, color it, cure it with belief in truth, innocence, beauty and love..."
