Education:
In her early years she had a self-taught
artistic background. For over twenty years she has
spent long periods of time in Europe;
this has allowed her to deepen her artistic skills. In her trips to
Europe,
she has had the privilege of attending multiple and diverse
exhibitions, visited art galleries and museums and participated
actively in workshops with local artists, enriching her approach to
art.
In 2005 she refined her watercolor technique at the Sunningwell
School of Art, in Oxford, England. She studied painting at the Ecole
D’Arts in Lyon, France. In Mexico, she has participated in several
visual arts workshops, among which the ones of Oscar Bachtold,
José Luis Bustamante, Víctor Guadalajara, Jorge Salort, Huáscar
Taborga, and Roger Von Gunten stand out.
Teresa Rubio has studied for years Zao Wo-Ki´s art work, and this
has inspired her deeply. Her art belongs to the artistic tendency
Informalism,
the trend that refers to the expulsion of forms and figures to allow
space to speak for itself. Teresa uses different techniques such as
watercolor, tempera, acrylic, collage, oil and encaustic.
